Video DesignVideo design and render pipeline for 301 individual 1280×800 tablets. Bluelight has become our new sun. A sun composed of 380 million pixels, connecting all screens into one synchronized visual flow.
Closed Tomorrow
Associate Video DesignInspired by the I Ching. Six live cameras, two media servers, and moving projectors make legible dancers' real-time adaptations to a rapidly changing, heavily mediated performance space.
Materiality of Surrender
Video DesignAn evening parking lot performance with live cameras snaking like inspection cables. Intimate and unsettling views through the five stages of grief.
Danton's Death
Projection DesignFour live cameras merge images in a crack-shaped projection in the abyss, and a flying screen descends like a guillotine blade. Using video as a god's view and as natural light, projecting light and shadows that were never there.
Heading Into Night
Projection DesignProjection expands the clown's small world into fragmented memories. The protagonist bursts into sky, drifts in ocean, lingers in the moment of being tossed as a child.
A Dream Under the Southern Bough
Projection DesignThe protagonist dreams of an ant kingdom, lives a lifetime, then wakes to an afternoon's slumber. A camera hides in the ground, watching from an ant's view under the earth.
Bigtan & Teresh Are Dead
Projection DesignThe stage slowly materializes as pages, letters, and scroll. A visual exploration of what it means to live, grieve, and resist inside a written world.
Look Up
Video InstallationTwo ceiling-corner screens pairing real-time face blurring with 360° Street View imagery of homes my body left behind but that still live on Google Maps. My grandmother is there, frozen in 2010. To remember is to locate.
